The production of foie gras involves force feeding of a duck or goose with more food than would eat in the wild and more than they would voluntarily eat domestically.
This is not related to how the gooses are actually feed.

According to Peter Singer, pain and
suffering are bad and should be prevented or minimized, irrespective of
the race, sex, or species of the being that suffers.

I am sick of such kind of human behaviour. Referring to "There is a limit to the amount of suffering one can inflict upon an animal for the pleasure of eating his or her organs", however, can we possibly find where exactly the limit lies? If not, how can we affirm that the limit does exist?

回覆刪除(1)鵝已變成是禽畜,其生命、成長、及傳宗接代的命運安排已經與人類烹調煮食息息相關!時光難以倒流,養肥了的鵝是人類的努力成果、不是鵝自己養肥了自己、「too bad, 食得鹹魚抵得渴」,家鵝不是野鵝、不是天生天養也就不是自生自滅了,終須一死也成了為人類而終須一死。
(2)既然難逃一死,做一隻飽極而還未死的肥鵝、身藏著一隻肥腫碩大的肝,看似被迫、確實也是被迫,非常痛苦怕也是事實,但回頭看人類社會看那些肚滿腸肥的「上等人」不也是自我「不人道J地自我催谷嗎?肥鵝與肥人皆飽極而死,但肥鵝除了捨生奉上上佳FOIE GRAS 以外、也奉上肥軀作為燒鵝,它們的一生一身、總算由於人類的殘忍而作出一點供獻成為食物鍊上的一員。
(3)反觀肥人,無論其肥身肥肝、也不可供食用或作健康移植之用,他們一生暴飲暴食、浪費資源,卻沒有人批評他們殘忍對己對人,確是人類社會道德觀的一大諷刺!
